Design and Engineering

CQM is a one-stop shop that provides quality service at a reasonable cost. This begins with engineering and design, where CQM technicians use state-of-the-art Pro Engineer, and MasterCAM software to analyze the proposed project. This includes "de-bugging" the proposed design. Using sophisticated software, we can identify and correct mistakes. A design may seem OK, but our engineers discover flaws. Using finite element analysis, we produce a parametrically-constructed plastic part that can be analyzed for stress, loading, warping, shrinkage and other mechanical problems. Less-powerful, shape-based CAD programs lack these capabilities and are more expensive. Our parametric-based CAD programs allow us to head off problems, which saves time and money.

Our one-stop shop means less bureaucracy. You, the client, deal with one person at CQM, owner Larry Kraft. We are kept accountable, you are kept informed. We use modern project management techniques and keep a Gant Chart - a visual flow chart - which tracks the project through completion.

CQM remains current in the fast-changing field of CAD and CAM technology. We use the latest software and Internet connections to transmit CAD files and other information to clients and vendors. We use FTP sites to deposit and receive these files, often during non-business hours.

CQM engineers analyze your data and develop a virtual prototype. This is a solid 3-D model that can be manipulated into the desired design. The software then interfaces with CAM software and CNC machine tools to build a mold to produce the part. We have done projects using two to eight molds producing upwards of 25 parts.

CQM technicians can redesign conventional technology to meet the demands of today. We support customers in the electronics, semiconductor, aircraft and medical industries with our ability to design and develop prototypes, create molds and provide value-added services. We can help you apply for U.S. or foreign patents, develop a business plan, and meet the requirements of agencies like the FDA and Underwriters Laboratory. We can outsource some jobs to qualified partners in China, often with significant savings to our customers. These projects are monitored closely for quality control and on-time delivery.
